Four New XBLA Titles Today

Been looking for a reason to visit the Xbox Live Arcade Marketplace? There's four new ones today, and Summer of Arcade hasn't even started yet -- it looks like an expensive summer for those who enjoy their downloadable games.

Today sees the long-awaited release of Galaga Legions DX for 800 points. This retro remake, created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original Galaga, gives the game the Pac-Man Championship Edition DX treatment. Huge alien swarms attack the player, who has nothing but their wits, guns and two satellite outriders to defend themselves with. Grab the trial version here.

Also out today is Lucha Fury, a Lucha Libre masked Mexican wrestling-themed title that will also set you back 800 space bucks. The game offers up to 4 player simultaneous play, "far-out story-telling, dumb humor, bad taste and surprises galore." Trial version is here.

Backbreaker Vengeance joins the pack today for 1200 Microsoft Points, combining elements from the original Backbreaker Football with the pick-up-and-play nature of the mobile games. It features three game modes and the exciting-sounding "Euphoria-fueled dynamic motion" system which apparently allows "unpredictable and un-canned animations." Watch out for YouTube videos of that going hilariously wrong in a few weeks, then. Pick up the trial version from the Marketplace.

Finally, the wonderfully-titled Half-Minute Hero Super Mega Neo Climax joins the ranks of Xbox Live Arcade this week for 800 Points. The game, a re-imagining of 2009's Half-Minute Hero for PSP, features 62 entire RPGs, each with a 30-second time limit and online leaderboards. There are also a selection of increasingly-ridiculous and unreasonable modes to enjoy as well as a multiplayer component. Here's the trial.

At least one of those should keep you busy until Summer of Arcade kicks off.
