E3: Sony's PlayStation 3DTV

"We're dedicated to 3D," said Jack Tretton on stage at Sony's E3 press conference, explaining that one of the biggest obstacles to its adoption is the fact that it's not affordable.

Enter the PlayStation-branded 3DTV, a 24-inch display that not only allows "affordable" 3D gameplay but also same-room co-op without the need for split-screen.

The PlayStation-branded 3DTV will be available as a bundle with the display, a pair of 3D glasses and a copy of Resistance 3, which Sony is clearly intending to be a 3D showcase title. The bundle will cost $499, making it a relatively low-cost entry to the world of 3D.
