Witcher 2 Goes DRM Free

In a surprise move, this hit PC title aims to become more accessible by removing unnecessary DRM restrictions.

While Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition on PC is introducing some draconian DRM, the Witcher's website reveals that an upcoming patch will make their particular game DRM free.

In addition to the DRM removal, which "gives players the freedom to install and play the game on any number of computers, and no activation code is required," the site also touts "frame rate increases of approximately up to 30%, especially noticeable on DRMed versions and low spec systems, better stability, and non-problematic installation of free DLCs."

You can download the official patch right here. And if you haven't even bought the game yet, what are you waiting for? In his review, Jason Wilson calls the game, "everything that's good about PC development." With this recent goodwill gesture, it looks like they're trying to live up to that.
