LoveFilm finally hits PS3

Stream movies to your games console

The online film rental service LoveFilm has been made available to PlayStation 3 users.

Existing LoveFilm subscribers that pay £9.99 per month can stream unlimited movies direct to their Sony games console for no extra cost. Users can browse and select movies from the rental service's catalogue of 2,000 films by clicking the LoveFilm logo from the Xross Media Bar and then entering their username and password.

The service is also available to LoveFilm 'Light use' subscribers that fork out £5.99 per month but don't have access to games. However, these subscribers will be restricted to a set number of hours' worth of streaming.

Any other subscribers will need to upgrade to make use of the PS3 service.

Rumours about the service being made available on the PS3 hit the web last month, after a clip of the service was posted on the PS3 YouTube channel. However, it was quickly removed and at the time, neither Sony or LoveFilm would confirm the service would be made available via the console.

LoveFilm is also available through Samsung internet-connected TVs.
