Microsoft Kinect to land in UK on November 10

Motion-sensing camera hits UK six days after US

Microsoft has confirmed its Kinect motion-sensing camera for the Xbox 360 will be made available in the UK on November 10.

Previously, the UK release date had been slated as mid-November after a number of online retailers including HMV and Play.com listed the add-on, which enables Xbox 360 users to play games by moving parts of their body, as available for pre-order with a shipping date of November 19.

However, Microsoft has now confirmed it will hit UK shelves just six days after the camera launches in the US.

"With Kinect, you become the controller, giving you the choice in how you and your friends navigate entertainment and gaming experiences,” said Chris Lewis, Microsoft's head of Xbox in Europe.

"We're already seeing a high level of anticipation in Europe with sales of the Kinect ready Xbox 360 250GB creating an all-time record weekly market share."

The Kinect is priced at £129.99 but is also available in a £249.99 bundle that comes with a much smaller version of the Xbox 360 that comes with 4GB flash memory rather than an integrated hard drive.
