Xbox 360, PS3 get Beijing 2008 game

No Olympic game for the Wii

Sega yesterday announced the official video game of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Interestingly, Nintendo Wii didn't qualify.

"With [over 35] events, innovative control schemes to benefit new and experienced gamers, online multiplayer modes providing hours of entertainment, and stunning high definition graphics, Beijing 2008 will be a fantastic experience," promised Hugh Binns of Eurocom Software, the game's developer.

Although few additional details were provided, Beijing 2008, to be published by Sega, is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this summer. Regrettably, Wii owners will have to keep playing the previously released Mario and Sonic at the Olympics as this one won't be made available on Nintendo platforms.
