Far Cry 2 announced for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

First-person shooter not just for PC

Ubisoft yesterday announced the release of Far Cry 2 for Xbox 360 and PS3, in addition to the already planned PC version.

Developed by Ubisoft's Montreal studio, Far Cry 2 promises to be "more than just a visual and technological achievement," but an "entirely new way" to first-person shoot. The game will feature a newly designed graphics engine and takes place in Africa.

Far Cry 2 was first announced for PC in July of 2007. The sequel is scheduled to ship sometime this year (fiscal 2008-2009).
