The Beatles: Rock Band gets US release

Game also bundled with instruments

Fans of the Rock Band computer game eagerly awaiting a Beatles version, which was announced last year, have been put out of their misery after creator EA Games revealed The Beatles:Rock Band will be made available in the US on September 9.

Available for the PS3, Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360, the game, which will be compatible with all previously released guitars and drums, will be available in three different versions. The standalone game will be priced at $60 while a $100 guitar bundle and a $250 'Limited Edition Premium Bundle' that will come with instruments modeled after the ones the fab four originally used, will also be available. UK pricing and availability has yet to be released.

This will be the first band-themed Rock Band -Aerosmith has had a Guitar Hero game developed around them, and Guitar Hero: Metallica is due out later this month.

The music producer for The Beatles: Rock Band will be Giles Martin, who produced The Beatles Anthology and Love- The Beatles. The son of George Martin (longitme Beatles producer sometimes known as 'The Fifth Beatle') Martin will work alongside EA, Harmonix and MTV games to produce "gameplay that takes players on a journey through the legacy and evolution of the band's legendary career".
