Pirate copies of Halo 3 available online

Huge demand for Xbox 360 game

Pirate copies of Halo 3 made its way to the internet days before its release.

Several piracy sites began hosting downloads last week, but some UK users were able to get their hands on the title early without having to resort to illegal downloads. Many UK retailers broke the game's street date given the anticipated demand.

PC Advisor's US-based sister title GamePro said the pirated games only work on modified Xbox 360 units. Additionally, daring gamers who meddle in piracy run the risk of being permanently banned from Xbox Live, or worse, facing legal action.
