Six-week wait for Xbox 360 repairs

US blog says Microsoft struggling with Xbox flaws

Xbox 360 repairs are taking upwards of six weeks due to a spike in returns after Microsoft extended the console's warranty from one to three years in early July, according to US games blog Kotaku.

Kotaku sources the information to an insider claiming that both valid and invalid machines are being returned. As a result of the increased warranty, Xbox 360 repairs can now take as long according to the unnamed source.

One commenter confirmed the six-week repair turnaround while adding that Microsoft was kind enough to send along a free game due to the excessive delay.

The inundation of Xbox 360 service calls is to be expected, however, as is the case with most warranty extensions and/or product recalls.
