European PlayStation boss David Reeves said big news for the PS3 and PlayStation Portable (PSP) would be announced at the Leipzig game conference in Germany next month.
"There will be absolute fireworks at peak, that I can promise you. We will be doing things no-one has seen yet for both PS3 and PSP," he added.
Reeves is the executive credited for blowing the cover on Sony of America's discontinuation of the 60GB PS3.
