Sony apologies to Church for PS3 game

Resistance: Fall of Man upset Church of England

Sony has issued a public apology to the Church of England due to its unpermissive use of the Manchester Cathedral in a violent Resistance: Fall of Man shootout sequence.

After meeting with officials, Sony deemed the matter closed, though the company did not address the Church's demands to both withdraw the PlayStation 3 (PS3) game and donate to the Church's educational fund which helps fight gun violence.

Resistance: Fall of Man uses the interior of Manchester Cathedral's nave as the backdrop for a fictional depiction in which hundreds of digital soldiers are killed during a battle inside. Partly due to the controversy, Resistance is the best-selling exclusive PS3 game to date.
