Vodafone is expected to become one of the first mobile networks to offer Samsung's forthcoming Galaxy tablet.

The iPad rival, which will run version 2.2 of Google's Android operating system and feature a 7in screen, has appeared on Vodafone's systems, according to Engadget, and is likely to be available on a contract basis.

The tablet, which is thought to have a 1024x600 AMOLED display, 1GHz Hummingbird ARM11 Core S5PC110 processor, support for Flash and Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity, is likely to be launched at the IFA trade show in Germany next month.

Vodafone would not comment on the rumours.
