News: iPod dominates Amazon top 10
Apple's iPods continues its dominance at online retailer Amazon, holding eight of the top 10 places within Amazon's list of top-selling products. The 80GB iPod classic leads the way, followed by the silver 4GB iPod nano; the 8GB black iPod nano is in third place.

Nokia has invited some Nokia N81 phone users to start playing with its delayed new N-Gage gaming service.

News: MMS goes mainstream with 448m messages
Mobile phone picture messaging is on the up. Figures released today show that nearly 448 million photo messages were sent in the UK last year. The Mobile Data Association report says 23 percent of UK mobile phone owners are now using their handsets to access the internet. In December 2007 alone, 17 million handsets were used to get online.

Apple has introduced models of the iPhone and iPod touch that have double the exisiting models' memory. The higher capacity products join the existing models on the iPhone and iPod product lines.

News: Sony sales soar despite PlayStation 3
Sony today reported record sales and net profit for the last three months of the fiscal year. Behind the better results were healthy sales of some of Sony products such as Bravia LCD TVs, Vaio PCs and Cybershot digital cameras. Weak spots included projection TVs and mobile phones, and the PlayStation 3 remains behind schedule.

Apple sold 2.3 million Macs and 22.1 million iPods during the holiday shopping season, helping the company achieve $1.58bn profit during its fiscal first quarter. The Mac totals mark the third consecutive quarter that Apple has set a quarterly sales record for its desktops and laptops.

News: UK iPhone sales 'miss' 200,000 target
Apple's iPhone has failed to hit its sales target, reports the Financial Times. The FT said Apple's UK iPhone partner O2 sold 190,000 of the handsets in its first eight weeks on sale, quoting "people familiar with the situation".

News: HTC Touch achieves 50% of iPhone sales
HTC's iPhone killer – the HTC Touch - sold 2 million units last year, the Tawainese company has revealed. At last week's Macworld Expo in San Francisco Apple CEO Steve Jobs said his company had sold 4 million iPhones since launch.

PlayTomato has launched a music and video player which has more than a likeness to Apple's iPod touch. The device, which debuted in South Korea on Friday, is the latest in a line of products from portable gadget makers that take design cues from Apple's successful iPod and iPhone products.
