Dragon's Den's iTeddy recruits The Wombles

iTeddy will regale kids with Postman Pat yarns

iTeddy, a cuddly toy that met with approval when presented on TV programme Dragon’s Den, makes its UK launch tomorrow. The iTeddy is no ordinary bear: it houses a media player on which kids can listen to music and audio books, watch TV shows, cartoons and videos.

According to details listed at www.iteddy.com, children will be able to view photos and play back home video clips they’ve created themselves as well as enjoying well-known TV shows and cartoons.

Content partner BiBC has signed a deal with iTeddy’s creators to supply classics such as Paddington Bear, The Wombles and Postman Pat. These will be available for parents to download on either a one-by-one or a subscription basis.

The toy is being marketed as an educative device as well as a toy and is aimed at kids from the age of three upwards. It will have a built-in voice recorder.

Parents will be able to transfer media content to the iTeddy via a USB connection, which is also used to recharge the built-in battery.

Kids' cuddly entertainer iTeddy will be available from tomorrow here.
