O2 follows Orange with iPad data plans

Browsing starts from £2 per day for 500MB

Hot on the heels of Orange's announcement, O2 has also unveiled 3G data plans aimed specifically at iPad owners.

For £2, iPad owners can use their 3G connection to acess the web, although this is capped at 500MB.

Alternatively, a 1GB or 3GB monthly browsing allowance is available, priced at £10 and £15 respectively.

O2 said all of the iPad data tariffs will also offer unlimited Wi-Fi access through BT Openzone and The Cloud hotspots.

Customers of the dedicated iPad 3G deals will also be notified as they approach their data limit.

"We are truly excited to provide service for iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G," said Sally Cowdry, O2's marketing director.

"Not only will it be quick and easy to buy value for money data access from the device, but customers will also benefit from our overall, award-winning service wrap which includes great network and great customer service and the added benefit of access to thousands of public Wi-Fi hotspots."
