Apple confirms delay for iPad in the UK

iPad delay as Brits have to wait until end of April

Apple has officially announced that the Apple iPad will be released in the UK at the end of April, some weeks after the newly confirmed US launch date of April 3.

US customers will be able to pre-order the iPad from next week (March 12), when both the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G models will be listed on Apple’s US online store.

But while the UK Apple website is still showing the original release dates, Apple has confirmed that those outside the US will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the Mac tablet. All iPad models will be available in the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland in late April.

Although rumours earlier this week suggested that the cheapest iPad would cost under £400 in the UK, Apple says official pricing won't be announced until April.
