Oil giant BP has launched a global search for new postgraduates for its IT function, and refining and marketing businesses.

The postgraduates will join BP's Future Leaders Programme (FLP), where they will rotate through at least two roles, with responsibilities lasting between 18 and 24 months (three to four years in total).

"We are looking for highly capable people studying a second degree, who have international experience and who bring new perspectives to our business," said Iain Conn, BP's chief executive for refining and marketing.

To join the IT programme, applicants should have an undergraduate degree in IT or a related field, like software engineering, with a postgraduate degree, for example, an MSc. Relevant professional experience and a track record of achieving results in a commercial environment is also required.

BP is offering opportunities in architecture and design, business analysis and consulting, service delivery and project, programme and portfolio management.

More information about the programme can be found here. The deadline for applications is the end of November, and successful applicants will start work at BP between February and July 2012.
