SPAR deploys videoconferencing to improve business collaboration

Business is more efficient, cuts down on travel costs

The SPAR convenience shop business is deploying a cloud-based video conferencing system to help increase efficiency.

The Avaya Scopia video conferencing technology promises to improve collaboration at seven SPAR business units located across the UK.

The hosted system is being provided to SPAR by Avaya partner Videonations through a private cloud platform.

The seven business units previously used basic teleconferencing systems, which still meant executives often had to travel to have face-to-face meetings.

Roy Ford, IT controller at SPAR UK, said: "The ease-of-use of the Scopia system ensures that our adoption curve will be more easily managed than with other solutions, and we expect our use to grow as the system beds in at SPAR."

The hosted cloud system means SPAR is not responsible for any Capex outlay or maintenance costs, with Videonations having deployed the user endpoints.
