Kyocera connects Cloud Connect 2.0 to Google Drive

Kyocera Document Solutions has upgraded its remote solution, Cloud Connect, to support Google Drive.

The version 2.0 update enables scanned files to be directly uploaded to Google Drive from a Kyocera product, essentially removing the computer from the sending process.

Cloud Storage - Comparison of 30 Services

Cloud Connect v2.0, which providers scanning and printing capability of files in the Cloud directly from most Kyocera printers, also allows for print files stored in Google Drive to be retrieved and printed directly.

Kyocera Document Solutions A/NZ product marketing manager, George Kharoufeh, said it was important for Cloud Connect 2.0 to support one of the fastest growing public Cloud providers.

"Increasingly customers want to store and access data from anywhere, at any time," he said.

"Cloud Connect is the solution that bridges our products to the cloud service applications publicly available today."

In addition to Google Drive support, Cloud Connect also comes with connectivity to other popular online services such as Evernote. Patrick Budmar covers consumer and enterprise technology breaking news for IDG Communications. Follow Patrick on Twitter at @patrick_budmar.
