London Stock Exchange CIO gains COO duties

Shagoury will look after business operations as well as technology

Antoine Shagoury, currently responsible for technology at the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), has been appointed to the role of group chief operating officer at the company.

In his new role, Shagoury will look after all aspects of the group's business operations in addition to his existing technology management responsibilities.

In addition, David Lester, currently group director of information services at LSE, will also have expanded responsibilities as the company's group director of strategic development.

These appointments were part of the LSEG's announcement today of significant changes to its board.

For example, its chief financial officer, Doug Webb, will be standing down from the board on 2 July and leaving the company on 31 July, after four years at the company.

He will be replaced by David Warren, who was previously CFO at Nasdaq OMX.
