Buying Solutions awards £500m local government software contract

39 suppliers including Atos and Civica, benefit from the deal

Buying Solutions, the government's procurement arm, has awarded a £500 million framework contract to Atos, Logica, Civica and Capita for the supply of a range of software solutions for local government.

The companies are part of a list of 39 suppliers who have been awarded various parts of the contract.

Other suppliers that will benefit from the contract include Asidua, CACI, Hitachi, Ipswich Software, Lagan Technologies, Northgate Information Solutions, Siemens and Oxford Computer Consultants.

Under the two-year deal, the suppliers will be required to supply software application solutions in management and finance, social care and education, communities, environment and public protection.

This includes revenue, benefits and finance, highways and transport software and social housing software solutions.

Local government organisations that will be able to use services under the framework include UK police forces, councils, schools and NHS bodies.
