Bulletin: UBS to cut 500 IT jobs

Swiss bank giant reduces in-house tech team by 7.5%

Banking giant UBS is to cut 500 jobs from its global IT workforce of 8,700.

Some 200 posts will go in Switzerland. 180 in the US and the remainder in the UK and far east, according to reports in the Italian-language paper La Regione Ticino, which UBS has confirmed to Reuters

The investment bank has been pushing up spending on IT outsourcing in the aftermath of the recession.
