BT said the glossy black Vision+ box, which matches BT's Home Hub wireless router, uses 12 percent less power than previous boxes.
The set-top box connects to existing TV aerials to provide viewers will the ability to watch and record Freeview TV on the box's 160GB hard drive. The box also feature a new-look remote control with enlarged characters.

Marc Watson, CEO BT Vision, said: "We are always looking at ways in which we can improve BT Vision. The new BT Vision+ box is not only better looking, it also consumes less energy, something that we know is extremely important to our customers".
The new Vision+ box is available free to new customers signing up to the BT Vision service and any value pack before January 15.
