iTunes gets MGM movies

Apple boosts iTunes catalogue in the US

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and Apple on have announced that MGM is now offering its movies for purchase and download from Apple’s iTunes Store in the US.

MGM's catalogue of films now available for download from the iTunes Store includes titles like Mad Max, The Great Train Robbery and Rocky. The company plans to make more titles available in the coming weeks as well.

Each of the movies is offered in resolution up to 640 x 480 (depending on aspect ratio) and is playable on Macs, PCs, fifth-generation iPods and the Apple TV.

According to reports, iTunes movies downloads could come to the UK later this year.
