Sony has warned that UK deliveries of CDs and DVDs could be affected after its only British warehouse for content products was the subject of an arson attack in north London as part of the on-going riots in the city – which some police have blamed on video games such as Grand Theft Auto.
Reuters reports that the three-storey, 20,000 square-metre warehouse has been burning since late on Monday or early Tuesday in the London borough of Enfield, which has been the site of rioting that has spread from the Tottenham area.
"There will likely be some impact on deliveries," said Yoko Yasukochi, a spokeswoman at the Japanese electronics and entertainment conglomerate in Tokyo.
"We cannot determine the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage yet because it's not possible to enter the building," she said. No injuries have been reported from the fire, she added.
