Channel Five comes to Virgin's TV on demand

Completes terrestrial catch-up offering

Virgin Media has joined forces with Channel Five to make shows broadcast on the channel available through Virgin's TV-on-demand service.

Popular UK shows including 'The Gadget Show' and 'Fifth Gear' will be available, along with US drama including 'The Mentalist', 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'CSI:Miami', all of which are currently broadcast on the three channels owned by the broadcaster: Five, Fiver and Five USA.

"We're delighted to add Demand Five to our pioneering TV on demand service and to complete our offering of terrestrial TV catch-up services," said Cindy Rose, executive director of digital entertainment at Virgin Media.

The telecoms company said the new deal with Channel 5 means Virgin Media is the only TV provider to offer catch-up services from all four main terrestrial broadcasters.

Virgin Media's TV on demand library contains more than 4,600 hours of TV, film and music, including hundreds of hours in HD.
