Best Buy coming to Essex in May

Online retailer to open stores in UK this year

Online electronics retailer Best Buy has revealed it will open its first UK store in Thurrock, Essex in May this year.

The Thurrock store will be followed by shops in Hedge End, Southampton and Merry Hill in the West Midlands in June, with further locations including Aintree near Liverpool and Croydon in Surrey to be opened later in the year.

As well as offering laptops, PCs and digital camera, the Best Buy stores will sell home theatre systems, along with HD and 3D TVs.

Best Buy said all of its stores will offer access to The Geek Squad tech support and advice service. Consumers will also benefit from a trade-in service that will ensure you receive a discount on a purchase when you trade-in your old device, along with a guarantee to price match any product and the ability to book an in-store consultation to get one-on-one advice.

"We're here to make buying technology simple, exciting and tailored to each of our customers," said Paul Antoniadis, CEO of Best Buy branded operations

"We look forward to offering the ultimate in home entertainment technology and installations, and we plan to keep bringing our customers the best that technology can offer in every part of our stores.
