Sky to demo 3D TV at London's Westfield

Demo will feature clips of 3D Premiership match

Sky has revealed it will be giving shoppers at London's Westfield a demo of its 3D TV service.

The demo, which will take place on Friday March 12, will feature a selection of 3D footage including a Burberry fashion show that was filmed during last month's London Fashion Week, as well as clips from the Arsenal vs Manchester United Premiership match, which Sky broadcast in 3D in nine pubs across the UK in January.

3D clips of tennis, boxing, golf, ballet, live music and films will also feature in the demo.

Sky said the Westfield event was the first of a number of demos of its 3D TV service, which is due to be made publicly available to Sky HD customers later this year.

In March last year, Sky said it would broadcast 3D shows in the UK by Christmas, following a number of trials including the 3D broadcast of a live concert by indie band Keane.

However, it was trumped by Channel 4, which offered a week of 3D broadcasts in November.
