New Irish digital music start-up Ripfactory launches today, offering to digitise your music - for a fee.

The company promises to save its customers endless hours sat before a computer ripping tunes for future playback on digital devices.

The service is available online at www.ripfactory.com. Users visit the site to place an order, and receive a box from the company as soon as the next day. They use the box to send the CDs they want digitised to the Ripfactory, which will do the ripping.

Tracks are converted into MP3s, which are returned on DVD, along with the original CDs.

"The process takes less than a week and costs from £1 (US$1.82) per CD", according to the company.
