Pro-radio DJs including Paul Gambaccini and Tony Blackburn have turned to Podcasting as a new radio show distribution system.

The pair are among a clutch of known-name DJs who are working with former Virgin Radio DJ Daryl Denham and BBC Radio 1 DJ Wes Butters to create radio show podcasts that can be acquired for just 49p each.

This cabal of experienced radio show hosts have set themselves up as a company called Podshows, available at www.podshows.com.

The entrepreneurial radio hosts hope to offer a wide array of show choices, including music, spoken word, showbusiness and comedy, with other show topics already pencilled for future development.

The venture already has deals with Warner Music and Universal for music. The first shows include Butters' Top 40 show, Denham's daily breakfast show and Gambaccini's classical and jazz shows. Tony Blackburn is offering a '70s music show.
