Sony mobile plays a sexy new tune

CeBit: Even funkier phone leaves journos drooling

We thought Sony's Z5 mobile phone was pretty slim and sexy. Today at the CeBit IT show Sony showed us something hotter still: its even smaller, lighter successor. The MZ5 can play music but, typically, Sony has chosen its proprietary Memory Stick system for storage.

Sony's MZ5 will be out in the UK later this year and comes with a 64MB MagicGate Memory Stick and stereo headset with microphone. 'Proper' (POP3) email and the latest WAP browser are built in.

Sony didn't say how much the MZ5 would sell for but the company's products are not known for being cheap. However, it is small, curvy and has funky blue bits. It has the obligatory Sony Jog Dial control system (loved by righthanders, loathed by lefties) and weighs a respectable 110g.
