PC World plans eco-friendly PC

Advent PC to use recycled materials

UK retailer PC World is planning to launch the world’s most eco-friendly PC this autumn.

As well as paying to plant trees to offset the environmental impact of the system, PC World said the PC would use recycled and recyclable materials. It’s also expected to use low-power components, a policy that several other PC makers have adopted in a bid to reduce running costs and environmental impact.

Bryan Magrath, commercial director of PC World, explained: ‘We're harnessing the very latest technology and the expertise of cutting-edge component developers to create the first 'PC' PC.’

PC World says its first carbon-neutral PC, which will be part of its Advent desktop PC range, should be available from its stores this autumn.
