Computing Association expels Vantage

PC Advisor withdraws awards

UK PC maker Vantage Computers has been expelled from the PCA (Professional Computing Association) for failing to conform to its code of practice.

PCA chief executive Keith Warburton told PC Advisor that Vantage breached the terms of its membership by not responding to requests to resolve a customer problem. He said the PC maker failed to refund the customer after the non-delivery of a PC in October. Warburton also said the PCA had made several unsuccessful attempts to contact the company over the past three months. Furthermore, PC Advisor has been unable to get through to the company over the past two days.

As a result, we've stripped Vantage of the Best Buy and Recommended awards achieved in the March issue of PC Advisor – with the Best Buy award in the £751 to £1,000 PCs category and the Recommended award in the sub-£500 category now withdrawn.
