‘How Things Work’ section continues success of PC Advisor discussion forums

PC Advisor visitors start inspired new thread

Started only a few days ago in our Chipchat forum, How Things Work is the inspiration of founder visitors China, JeffH, Bev, Pegasus and Dan.

The thread already features in-depth, non-technical descriptions of motherboards, the differences between cache and other types of memory, hard disk technology, and CPUs.

“This thread was started to give people a general idea, in simple terms, of how each component in a computer works, not to recommend various bits and pieces,” explained a visitor, who goes by the screen name ssggww

“This thread is exactly what I need. It’s always been embarrassing to ask these kinds of questions and now you are all talking about the bits as though it’s just fine. I love the way no one here has a ‘knowitall’ attitude. Please keep this kind of discussion going,” commented regular visitor Bev.

Visitors can check out the new thread in Chipchat, in addition to our other three forums: Helproom, Consumerwatch and Magwatch, by registering for free. http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/registered
