Child porn-peddlers busted

International operation uncovers biggest ever porn ring

A gang which posted child abuse pictures on the internet has been busted in the biggest ever swoop on child pornography.

To become a member of the Wonderland Gang, each applicant had to provide 10,000 indecent pictures of youngsters. These 'initiation test' results were then posted on the internet. The site also included over 1,800 videos of children being molested.

Some of the children pictured were as young as three months; the oldest were 17. Investigating officers described the incident as "sick".

Fifteen homes in Britain were raided along with homes in America, Australia and many European countries, amounting to a total of 100 arrests. Seven British members have admitted to distributing images of paedophilia.

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Wood, who led the National Crime Squad, said the whole incident was “truly stomach churning”.

Before this swoop, the biggest seizure of child porn in the UK had been a total of 8,000 images - that's 2,000 less than each member needed to join the Wonderland Gang. Those arrested have been prosecuted in their own countries.
