Be increases upload speed to 1.3Mbps

ISP fattens both ends of the pipe

Be, which earlier this week launched a 24Mbps downstream service, has increased the upload speed to 1.3Mbps. The ISP is claiming upload speeds up to five times faster than other broadband providers.

The increased speed will allow users to run services such as VoIP and video conferencing more effectively, and will give them the ability to quickly send hefty email attachments.

“This upload speed will transform the capability for anyone wanting to upload content from pictures to pod-casts to place-shifting,” said Dana Pressman, managing director of Be.

The service costs £24 per month (plus a £24 connection fee). To check availability and to order Be’s 24Mbps broadband, go to BeThere.co.uk
