E-commerce held back by security fears

Worries about security are still the biggest hindrance when it comes to the take up of e-commerce in the UK.

Getting on for half of the respondents (44.1 percent) to the most recent poll on the PC Advisor web site indicated that security fears were the biggest obstacle to the growth of UK e-commerce.

A mere 10.4 percent cited limited bandwidth as the most important handicap to conducting transactions over the Internet, while nearly a third (28.5 percent) stated that expensive Net access was the biggest impediment to the growth of e-commerce.
