CeBit: Saint Song seeks Euro distributors for tiny PC

All eyes on the miniscule micro

Taiwanese manufacturer Saint Song is demonstrating tiny Pentium 4 PCs at the CeBit trade show in Hanover, Germany, this week, in the hope of finding European distributors for its products.

Saint Song, of Taipei, makes tiny computers. Its latest product, the Latte Pentium 4, measures 205mm by 156x62mm and weighs 1.9kg. The Latte is available in speeds of up to 3.06GHz, with an 80GB hard drive and a built-in 56Kbps modem or Ethernet option. It also offers multiple connection options including S-Video and AC Video ports, making it suitable as a multimedia home computer, sales manager Max Wang said.

The Latte computers were attracting a lot of attention from people passing Saint Song's stand at CeBit on Friday, chiefly because of their size and brightly coloured cases. The company had spoken to four or five potential European distributors within the first two days of the show, Wang said. "We will have to study them and maybe pick one," he said. The products are already sold across Asia and have some presence in the USA, where the Latte sells for about $800 (£420).
