Australian-owned IP PBX systems company, Vixtel, has completed the acquisition of Silicon Valley based glass phone developer, CloudTC.
Vixtel CEO, Terry Crews, said the acquisition would enable the company to offer Australian businesses a product that brings smartphone technology to the desktop.

Crews mentioned the move is also consistent with Vixtel's strategy to own, develop and maintain all technology within its product offering.
"We believe it allows us to truly differentiate our product and meet market demand faster," he said.
Central to Vixtel's offering is the Glass 1100, an Android based 9-inch touchscreen phone that delivers a user experience comparable to a smartphone but in a desk phone.
"We worked with CloudTC for the last four years to develop the Glass Phone and we're thrilled to have now acquired 100 per cent of the company," he said.
Crews claimed he looks forward to further extending the Glass Phone's capabilities with the company's Australian research and development team.
"It's about delivering a seamless communications experience; ensuring clients have access to a good network regardless of device or location."
He added that products like the iPhone have revolutionised communication ways and how users buy products. Crews intends to takes that rationale to a new level.
"One simple device has put real pressure on traditionally strong product categories by using applications to transform the phone into anything from a camera to a spirit level.
"So today we are your telephone company, your PBX provider, your conferencing provider, your call centre manager and later this year we'll offer a replacement for the PC using the Glass Phone," he said.
Vixtel has already commenced the development of the Glass 2200, which will have a quad core processor, Linux operating system and boast the functionality of both a phone and desktop PC.
The Glass 2200 will be launched and released later this year, but the Glass 1100 is available for all businesses within Australia.
