Cheaper, faster connection

ISP launches 2Mbps for under £30

ISP Bulldog Communications is offering its 2Mbps (megabits per second) high-speed broadband service for a limited period for just £29.36 per month — about the same price as the average 512Kbps connection.

The firm yesterday announced it would be expanding its 1Mbps and 2Mbps services to a further 205 exchanges, bringing its total coverage to 200,00 businesses and 3.8 million homes.

To raise awareness, Bulldog's PrimeTime2000 2Mbps deal is now just £24.99 ex VAT per month — representing a saving of around £10 per month on current standard prices, and making it the cheapest service of its kind on the market. The offer will run between now and 31 August 04.

"As ever we remain committed to expanding our high bandwidth services across the UK," said Richard Greco, CEO of Bulldog. "New customers can get up to four times the standard 512Kbps bandwidth offered by BT for about the same price."

The PrimeTime service guarantees full bandwidth off-peak (between 6pm and 8am and at weekends), and standard rates of 512Kbps (kilobits per second) at all other times.
