Apple's new 13in MacBook Pro with Retina display UK pricing and tech specs

The new MacBook was announced alongside several other Mac updates on Tuesday

Apple has introduced a 13in MacBook Pro with Retina display, which will be available to buy today, starting at £1,449.

The new MacBook, which was unveiled at a special event today by Apple's Phil Schiller, is the lightest MacBook Pro ever.

It has more than 4 million pixels in its 13.3in display, at 227PPI. That's a resolution of 2560 by 1600.

The new MacBook Pro is 0.75 inches thin, and weighs just 3.57 lbs. It has MagSafe 2, two Thunderbolt ports, USB 3, headphone, microphones, an SD card reader, HDMI out and a second USB 3 port.

The 13in MacBook Pro with Retina display is available with a 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage for £1,449 including VAT.

With 256GB of flash storage the 13in MacBook Pro is available for £1,699.

The new MacBook has a 720p FaceTime HD camera, and up to 7 hours battery according to Apple.

Further configurations with up to 768GB and a dual-core Intel Core i7 processor is also available, but pricing is yet to be revealed. We'll update this story when we find out more.
