BT boosts broadband buying

Telco cuts cost of high-speed internet

Furthering its bid to push the uptake of its broadband services, BT has announced a range of offers and price cuts to attract more business and home customers.

Consumers are being offered one month free if they sign up for BT's Openworld or Broadband services before 31 October 03. This represents a saving of £29.99 or £28.00 respectively.

The deal for businesses is worth a bit more, with those customers who sign up before 30 September 03 being offered the chance to save up to £260 on broadband installation and activation.

Customers who opt for BT Openworld's Business 500Plus, 1,000Plus and 2,000Plus services will save the full £260, while those who choose wires-only versions of these services will get free activation worth £85.

Other savings can be had on the Business 500 Plug & Go product, which is offering free activation and a £100 saving on equipment, bringing the price down to just £50. If you order this service online the whole cost of equipment (£150) is waived.

Full terms and conditions on the business offers can be found here.

The deals are all part of BT boss Ben Verwaayen's aim to sign up five million broadband customers by 2006.
