Buyout not for Best Price

Campus carcass discarded by rival

The Campus Systems saga continues, as one potential buyer ditches its plans to offer for the assets of the defunct computer company.

Best Price Computers was considering swooping down on the carcass of its debt ridden rival, but decided against making a bid when it found that "the auditors report was scathing", according to Best Price director, Clinton Lee.

Lee goes on to claim that its research revealed that "important documents went missing, stock seemed to have been claimed on the balance sheet that didn't actually exist, and the auditors say that the company did not keep proper accounting records". As a result Best Price has withdrawn all interest in the company.

It is certainly true that this isn't the first time Campus Systems has found itself in trouble, as it had entered into a voluntary financial arrangement in May 01 according to records held at Companies House.
