Apple fans pay tribute to Steve Jobs in London

Flowers, pictures and apples left at Covent Garden store

Apple fans in London have left tributes to former Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who died last night, outside the company's stores.

Flowers have been left outside both the Regent Street and Covent Garden Apple Stores. Outside the Covent Garden store, a picture of Jobs bearing the caption 'You will be missed Steve' and an apple, with one bite taken out of it, had been left. The apple bears the inscription 'In the memory of a genius'.

Apple fans from around the world have been paying tribute to the Apple chairman, who lost his battle with a rare form of pancreatic cancer yesterday.

In San Francisco, fans gathered outside an Apple Store to remember Jobs and flowers were also left outside his Palo Alto home, though police later closed off the road.

In Japan, there were tributes paid to Jobs at the Ceatec electronics show, as well as outside Apple Stores in Tokyo.

Online tributes have also been flooding Twitter and Facebook as celebrities, industry insiders and world leaders added their thoughts.
