QXL.com claims first live online auction in UK

Five minute time slots to spice up site

Online auctioneer QXL.com is adrenalising its site by bringing down it’s virtual gavel on live, real-time auctions.

Starting tomorrow, QXL.com is hoping to add a taste of real world auctioneering by encouraging fast and furious bidding over a five minute time slot.

Holidays to Luxor, the Maldives and Paris, along with DVD players and a widescreen TV, will all be going under the mouse. Bids start at £1 with no reserve.

Online auctions are usually a laid back, leisurely affair, lasting between 24hrs and a week. Each auction will be hosted by a live QXL auctioneer who will oversee the five minute scramble.

The first auction will start at 12.10pm tomorrow, when an LG 32000E DVD Player will be up for grabs.

This will be followed by bidding for a seven day Hayes and Jarvis holiday to the Maldives, which could then be upstaged by a Umax Actionbook 246T notebook and a two night break to Brussels. http://www.qxl.com
