Micro MP3 player from Creative

Dinky MuVo can hang on a keyring

Just when you thought audio players couldn't get any smaller, Creative has gone and proved us all wrong with the launch of the MuVo — a player that's small enough to hang on a keyring.

The MuVo is an all-in-one device which combines USB storage with a music player, similar to a prototype PC Advisor saw at the Computex show in Taiwan. The device offers 64MB of storage which, Creative claims, can hold up to two hours of WMA (Windows media audio), or an hour of MP3 files. It can also be used to store data and image files.

The device works in a similar way to plain USB storage devices like Sony's MicroVault — it is made up of two modules, which you can unplug in order to hook it up to the USB port on your PC. No drivers are required for Windows 2000, Me or XP, and drivers for 98 are provided on the supplied CD.

It is powered by a single AAA battery, which Creative says will provide up to 12 hours life. It measures 75x35x13mm and weighs 28g. It will be available in August priced £99.99 inc VAT.
