UK teachers to get bite of the Apple

Apple Teacher Institute comes to the UK in March

The Apple Teacher Institute programme that's been successful in the US is coming to the UK.

Apple Teacher Institute 2002 is a residential course that will take place at Cheltenham College, Gloucestershire from 25 to 28 March.

The four-day course will cover subjects such as "using digital video in education, in-depth studies of creative education solutions, skill development in subject/age group relevant projects and sharing of experiences, action planning and portfolio development".

The cost for the four days, including full board and accommodation, is £99. Places are limited and registration will begin shortly so keep an eye on the Apple Teacher Institute 2002 UK website for details.

Apple launched the Apple Teacher Institutes, a series of hands-on technology workshops for teachers, last summer. The goal is for workshop participants to learn to effectively utilise technology to maximise planning and instructional time, expand their individual areas of expertise, engage an increasingly diverse student body, and discover new ways to individualise instruction.

The Apple Teacher Institutes highlight the potential of digital media, the internet, mobile and wireless computing. According to Apple they're led by a team of teachers who have effectively integrated these technologies into their classrooms.
