Demise of Quantex II

Resurrected PC maker incommunicado

After a fleeting resurrection of less than a year, PC maker Quantex appears to have ceased trading.

Sales and service phone lines are dead, managing director Alan Gower isn't answering his home phone number, and a petition to wind up the company has been filed by Synstar Computer Services, which provided Quantex with its customer support services.

Quantex was rescued last September by UK managing director Alan Gower who bravely pumped in £300,000 of his own money after its US parent became unable to supply components and technical support.

Gower was unavailable for comment.

See Quantex lives on for the full history.
