A website dedicated to helping people of all abilities use computers safely has been launched, highlighting the dangers of RSI.
The Keytools website includes useful information for individuals and organisations, from preventing and treating repetitive strain injury (RSI) to advice on complying with the Disability Discrimination Act.
RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) refers to several different medical conditions, which give the sufferer pain in the nerves, tendons and ligaments of the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, shoulder, neck, back and foot. It is often caused by frequent use of computer equipment.
Keytools is a distributor of equipment to prevent and alleviate the symptoms of RSI, such as RSIGuard BreakTimer, which continually analyses the users' intensity, quality and quantity of work as well as natural rest, and then suggests breaks at appropriate times.
The new site includes a Flash introduction to RSI, alongside other videos, as well as information about common conditions associated with RSI.
